MY STORY

I have been in contact with the abstract arts since my early childhood through my mother. As a child, I had the opportunity to watch her in her studio doing work.
However, my true contact with „art“ did not really start with painting.
My primary focus was on electronic music and related visual projections, which I have always been interested in and still am. With my move and the beginning of my studies of Economics in Vienna, I was able to dive deeper into the music scene and scraped inevitably a little bit the surface of the art scene.

In general, for me visual art and music are strongly interwoven and go hand in hand.
This connection finally brought me to the visual arts. I came to contemporary artists, among others Rothko, especially through artists like Richie Hawtin and his audiovisual concepts and collaborations with Ali Demirel as well as through friends and acquaintances who are in contemporary art and music scene.
The more I have been involved with music and art, the stronger was my desire to become active in this field in the long term.

After my Bachelor degree, I decided to move to Shanghai, China for work. During this time, I discovered several old quarters of Shanghai and started to photograph walls, doors and structures for my own sake.
Structures, color gradients and the surfaces influenced by nature and the environment form, with the pollution, special images with a certain aesthetic.
I started to make drawings and sketches and to work out and visualize ideas.

When I returned to Europe, I immediately started to put some of these sketches on canvas.

WORK

In my works, I bring in my personal experiences and impressions.

In general, I like it when pictures appear simple at first sight and become more and more complex and detailed on a closer look and develops its own beauty.
You can also transfer this to real life.

I mostly use diluted solutions of color to create transparency but also have the urge the break the mood with strong colors.

From the beginning, I have developed an affinity for lines and they often appear in my works both obvious and subtle.
Straight lines on the one hand, are something that does not exist in nature. Something unnatural that breaks nature when they are there. On the other hand, they give orientation and stability to the viewer. Therefore it disturbs but leads the viewer at the same time.

As a parallel stream, I create paper works, in which I try to create forms that are completely abstract but happen to become something figurative.

Since I do not concentrate on just one style, I also test a lot with different media and different techniques. This ranges from figurative sketches, photo art to computer-generated patterns.
